Meet Roberto

Learn More about Roberto

Roberto’s relationship with coffee started long before 80 Stone.
He grew up working in his family-owned coffee shop and always loved challenges.
Before moving into speciality coffee, Roberto ran his own cafe and wine bar in Verona, where he improved management and organization skills. In 2012 he moved to London with the specific objective to start another business, but something bigger this time.

Life Beyond the Roastery

Outside of work, Roberto has a strong appreciation for wine and the craft behind it — another world where balance, origin, and process matter. At home, life is busy: he’s a parent to two young children, which means early mornings, long days, and more than a few espressos along the way. As an Italian, Roberto grew up drinking coffee since he was a little boy. The classic moka pot and espresso are his historic favourite brewing methods, and at home he has a small La Pavoni espresso lever machine that he uses with freshly ground coffee.

Why Roberto Matters to 80 Stone

Roberto brings a precise, business-focused approach to 80 Stone, with a strong emphasis on organisation, reliability, and long-term planning. Alongside his co-founder, he helped build the roastery around a shared belief that speciality coffee should be approachable, responsibly made, and genuinely enjoyable. Environmentally conscious by nature, Roberto considers sustainability in both big decisions and everyday actions — from business strategy to waste reduction — helping ensure that 80 Stone’s values of quality, transparency, and long-term relationships carry through to every partnership and every cup.
